2U Showcase

2U is an educational technology company that partners with leading nonprofit colleges and universities to offer online degree programs. As a visual designer I was tasked with creating graphics, ranging from data visuals, infographics, illustrations, and presentation visuals empowering teachers to create the best learning experience.

Diagrams

A selection of Diagrams and Flowcharts created for a range of different courses. Working primarily in Illustrator and Photoshop I created several diagrams and flowcharts with the purpose of breaking down complex concepts. The main challenge is re-imagining these diagrams using 2U’s unique design system.

Illustrations

A selection of Illustrations, most of which where recreated and vectorized for a cleaner aesthetic on a digital platform.The primary directive in creating, and sometimes re-creating these illustrations is focused on making the content fit the overall style of 2U’s design system without compromising the original illustration. With these constraints the pen tool in illustrator and 2U’s color palettes were heavily used.

Infographics

A selection of Infographics each created with the purpose of highlighting key data points during a teacher’s lecture. Several of these visuals incorporated a bit of animation, helping enhance the overall connections the teacher would try to make during their lecture. The challenge with these projects is keeping the flow clean without watering down the content.

Graphs

A snapshot of graphs using 2U’s minimalistic design system. In designing simple data visuals, the established 2U design system made it easier to churn out thousands of data visuals without compromising the information or content.

2U Dark UI Sample

In cultivating 2U’s design systems several considerations needed to be made in order to adhere to established University style guides, while also allowing for a unique and consistent design for all 2U content. This is a sample of the Dark UI Template and its application on different types of infographics and educational visuals.

2U Partners

2U works with a large amount of Universities and non-profits colleges and with these collaborations comes a lot of unique design guidelines, brand constraints and overall limitations when creating consistent and aesthetic education visuals.
